What's New at Parts Finishing Group

  1. Parts Finishing Group Æ Metal Prep Plant, Detroit, MI PFG purchased assets of Metal Prep in September 2006. This 36,000 sq. ft. building was purchased to add capacity and compliment the existing PFG Æ Bellevue Processing Plant. Metal Prep operates tumble blasting and shot blasting equipment. In addition, Metal Prep specializes in blasting larger parts that can be hung in spinner hanger blasting machines. Parts such as stabilizer bars, large stampings, engine blocks, etc. utilize this process.
  2. Parts Finishing Group has recently signed two new license agreements to provide additional services in Mexico.
    • PFG is now licensed to apply Magni, which is a zinc rich coating. The Magni series of coatings provide long-term corrosion protection on fasteners and stampings. This product is applied at the two PFG plants in Chihuahua and Queretaro, Mexico.
    • PFG is now licensed by Nylok to apply a broad range of nylon self-locking, self-sealing patches to fasteners. This gives PFG the capability to coat parts with Magni and other coatings and then apply the self-locking nylon patch at the same location. www.nylok.com

  3. PFG Autophoretic Plant No. 3 – Startup June 2005. PFG has a new 50,000 sq. ft. facility in Chesterfield Michigan. This new plant will enable PFG to expand its Autophoretic operations providing more capacity and the ability to run longer parts up to 72" long. The plant has 2 large Autophoretic lines; 800 series conveyor rack line and a large 900 series hoist line. These heavy duty lines enable PFG to run small parts with high density and larger parts such as engine cradles and trailer hitches.

  4. PFG Indiana - Kendallville, Indiana – 42,000 sq. ft., Startup May 2005. Production began in May of 2005. PFGÍs expansion to Indiana is a result of its commitment to provide logistical support to its loyal customers in the Tri-State (Indiana / Ohio / Illinois) area. This plant also more than doubles PFGÍs production capacity in the U.S. Æ enabling the company to serve new markets and 100% of its customers requirements. The Kendallville plant, like the Queretaro plant in Mexico, features a new Jessup phosphate coating line and a new state of the art chain-on-edge line to coat inside and outside diameters of parts. This plant also offers additional coatings products and processes.

  5. PFG Queretaro - Queretaro, Mexico – 66,000 sq. ft., Startup April 2005. The Queretaro plant serves the southern half of Mexico, while the PFG Chihuahua plant serves northern Mexico and the southwest portion of the USA. The Queretaro plant solves logistical problems for many manufacturers and PFG customers doing business in Mexico. This plant offers a blend of coating services. Several pretreatment options are available including micro and macro zinc phosphate with three post treatment options on a new, high volume, double hoist, PLC controlled, Jessup barrel phosphate coating line. PFGÍs blasting capabilities include high volume tumble blasting, nozzle blasting, and chain on edge/table blasting. Several coatings are available including Chemlok rubber to metal bonding adhesives, dry film lubricants such as molydisulfide & PTFE, epoxies, zinc rich coatings, and more. Application methods include dip/spin, dip/drain, chain on edge, hand spray, and hand paint. This plant combines the latest cutting edge coating technology with the extensive highly skilled, low cost labor that Mexico has to offer, resulting in excellent quality, delivery and customer service.

  6. Parts Finishing Newsletter Update

    The purpose of this letter is to update customers regarding the expanded services that Parts Finishing Group (PFG) now provides. The following document contains a listing of the fifteen (15) PFG businesses and locations. As one can see, seven (7) of these businesses are startups, which were created in direct response to customer process and logistical needs. PFG now has ten (10) coatings plants, which are supported by the five (5) metal finishing pre-treatment plants……

  7. Michigan Hone and Drill, Madison Heights, MI in 2007 added 2 Accu-cut 4 spindle automatic bore sizing honing machines. Accu-cut's special features include automatic gaging that will detect any bad parts and automatically shut down the machine.
  8. Parts Finishing Group - Chihuahua, Mexico, December 2001, is now in production located in a modern 44,000 sq. ft. building. This plant has the following equipment lines:
    • New Phosphate Coating Line - Barrel or Rack
    • 50,000 lbs. Per hour
    • New Chain-on-Edge Spray Coating Line
    • New Dip/Drain Line
    • Dip/Spin Line and Tunnel Oven
